Patong police move to temporary station as rebuild starts
Patong Police are now operating from a temporary office on the hill at the southern end of town. The move began on September 28 while the old station is cleared for demolition and replacement with a new five-storey building.
What is happening
The old Patong station has been flooding every year during heavy rain, so the site is being rebuilt rather than patched up. The new building will sit higher to help reduce the flooding problem.
Where to go now
The temporary station is at 44/31 Siriraj Rd, on higher ground in southern Patong. Residents, workers and visitors should go there for routine police services during the rebuild.
What will be built
The project is expected to take about two years. Plans call for a five-storey reinforced-concrete station with offices, investigation and inquiry rooms, traffic operations, communications and network systems, parking, staff accommodation and better drainage around the site.
Why it matters day to day
Patong is busy year-round, so knowing the new police contact point matters for everyday errands, reports and assistance. For now, the practical answer is simple: use the temporary office on Siriraj Rd.
