Four more Ramayana sculptures are planned for Racha Yai
More underwater art is coming to Siam Bay off Racha Yai, where Phuket’s growing marine project is set to add four large Ramayana-themed sculptures.
The RAYA Underwater Art Museum is being developed as both a dive attraction and an artificial reef. The first figure, Hanuman, was installed in April, and the next phase will expand the site into a fuller underwater route.
What will be added
The new works are Rama, Ravana, The Road and Suphannamatcha. They are expected to be completed in September, then placed underwater during calmer sea conditions in November and December, when offshore work is usually safer and more precise.
This is not only about visual impact. The structures are designed to provide surfaces for coral growth and shelter for marine life, helping the site function as a reef-support project as well as a tourist draw.
When divers may visit
Visitors are expected to be able to reach the completed site in late 2026 or early 2027, depending on sea conditions and final safety checks. So this is a project with a clear timeline, not an immediate launch.
For divers planning southern Phuket trips, the practical takeaway is simple: Racha Yai is building another reason to book a dedicated marine outing, not just a standard short boat stop.
Why it stands out
Phuket rarely gets a project where culture, marine ecology and tourism all meet in one place. If the plan stays on schedule, Siam Bay could become one of the island’s more distinctive underwater sites.
