Phuket to host Asia’s first InterPride World Conference as Patong prepares for five days of arrivals

From 28 October to 1 November, Patong Beach will host InterPride General Meeting & World Conference 2026 — the first event of its kind in Asia.

For Phuket, this is a rare format: not a local festival or a standard tourist program, but an international gathering of LGBTQ+ leaders, advocates, and Pride organizers.

What is planned

The conference carries the theme Pearl of Asia. The agenda already includes 12 confirmed workshop topics and a dedicated InterPride 101 session. Planned discussions cover human rights, mental health, misinformation, international advocacy, Thailand’s marriage equality milestone, Thai drag culture, workplace inclusion, and safer spaces in sports.

What visitors will experience

Delegates will also see Phuket itself: Drag Street performances in Patong, a visit to Phuket Old Town, a gala dinner, and a networking trip to Coral Island. For residents, that means more visible movement in the west of Phuket and busier hotels and restaurants; for visitors, it is a good reason to plan evening travel a little earlier.

Why Phuket will notice it

Events like this do more than fill rooms. They place Phuket inside a global meeting calendar where organization, access, safety, and the ability to host very different audiences matter just as much as scenery.

Delegates are expected to leave with both policy discussions and a stronger impression of Phuket — from Patong’s street scene to the old town and a sea trip to one of the island’s best-known nearby spots.
