Bang Tao’s Run for the Reef lands on August 29 with a beach cleanup and breakfast

Run for the Reef 2026 will take place on 29 August at Bang Tao Beach with a cap of 200 runners.

The 3K fun run starts at 6:00 a.m. at Arinara Beach Resort Phuket. It is a simple, local-friendly format: a short run by the sea, breakfast after the finish, and a clear community-and-ocean theme.

What participants get

The event listing includes healthy breakfast, a branded headband, coffee and breakfast discount vouchers, a lucky draw, and surprise gifts from community partners. Regular entry is priced at 490 baht.

There is also a beach-cleanup element: runners can collect waste on the beach and redeem a limited Run for the Reef token. A portion of ticket sales, after expenses, will be donated to Oceans for All Foundation to support marine conservation.

Who it suits

This is a good pick for anyone who wants an active Saturday morning without a hard race atmosphere. The distance is short, the beach setting is central, and the format works for families, casual runners, and people who like events with a practical local purpose.

For Bang Tao, it fits the area well: beach access, an easy start time, and a community feel rather than a big staged production.

Practical note

Places are limited, so registration should not be left too late. The event runs in the morning window from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m., and anyone driving in should allow extra time for parking and getting down to the beach.
