Old Phuket Town switches on a week of light, Peranakan stories and jazz

From 23 to 29 August, Phuket Old Town has a free evening draw: Feel all the Feelings @ Phuket: Illuminating Peranakan at Chartered Bank Intersection.

The main attraction is projection mapping, turning a historic facade into a screen for light, sound and short stories about Phuket’s Baba-Peranakan heritage. The show runs daily, ten times each evening, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

What people will see

This is not a one-night event but a full week of after-dark activity. It is designed for residents, dinner plans in Old Town and anyone who wants a different reason to head into the historic centre after sunset.

On opening day, 23 August, the programme begins at 6:30 PM with a khon performance and live jazz before the main evening screenings start. That gives the street a stronger atmosphere right from the first night.

Why it is useful

For local people, it is an easy no-ticket outing with a clear time window and a central location. For visitors, it is a good way to experience Old Phuket Town as a night-time cultural district rather than only a daytime heritage stop.

If you are planning to go, allow extra time: the historic centre usually gets busy in the evening, especially around food spots and photo points.

Where to go

The location is Chartered Bank Intersection in Old Phuket Town. The event runs until 29 August, so there are still several nights left to catch it.
